The Lancashire Hotpots are the sort of rough-and-ready, salt-of-the-earth outfit that the NME would have gone weak at the knees for back in the day. These working-class heroes from the North West may not reinvent the wheel, but their stomping, singalong folk-punk is impossible not to get caught up in. Expect lashings of accordion, raucous sing-alongs, and a healthy dose of northern humour and attitude when they take the stage of Derby's legendary Hairy Dog. This sweaty, friendly little venue is the perfect setting for the Hotpots' brand of foot-stomping revelry, and with the train station just a short stumble away, you've got no excuse not to get involved. At a very reasonable twenty quid a pop, you'd be mad to miss this.
