Thirty-five years on, the Madchester mavericks are back to blow minds and bowels with their pill-popping, thrilling and belly-aching swagger.
They were the mop-topped, baggy-trousered hedonists who defined a generation, and now the Happy Mondays are returning to the scene of the crime. Thirty-five years on from the release of their landmark debut 'Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out)', Shaun Ryder and his merry band of miscreants are hitting the road to celebrate the timeless brilliance of 'Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches'. Expect a riotous, ribald run through indie-dance anthems like 'Kinky Afro', 'Step On' and 'Hallelujah' against the grimy, neon-lit backdrop of Birmingham's O2 Academy. This one's for the old-skool ravers, the Haçienda haunters and anyone who still has the energy to keep up with Shaun and co's hedonistic hijinks. Just don't forget to pack the Rennies.
