The Focus Wales Film Festival is the scrappy younger sibling of the legendary music fest, taking over Coleg Cambria in Wrexham for three days of celluloid mayhem. Think grainy Super 8 docs about your favorite scuzzy guitar bands, offbeat arthouse flicks, and rowdy Q&As with up-and-coming directors. The ramshackle college campus sets the scene, with graffitied concrete blocks and scruffy students rushing between screenings. Tickets range from a tenner to keep the indie kids happy, up to a £115 VIP pass for the clued-up cineaste crowd. Wrexham Central is the nearest station, so get ready to spill out of the venue and into the grubby delights of this oft-overlooked Welsh town.
